<Experience> I was looking for a versatile pair of shoes to walk the French way/Camino de Santiago. My plan was to walk 20-25Km every day on a 40/60 split of paved and unpaved trail including some mildly rugged terrain for 25 days to cover 60% of the entire route. The Ultraventure was a perfect fit. The mid-sole stayed extremely cushy through out the voyage, the grip was sufficient to negotiate the sometimes tricky (though not life-threatening) terrain, and most of all the Topo fit assured comfort all the way thru my journey. The roomy toe box combined with "Wrightsock" socks, and vaseline kept my feet completely blister free, barred for the first day when I foolishly descended a long section of hill with loosened shoe lace - the only injury I had suffered during this trip. The shoe delivered the performance and comfort I was looking for at purchase.
<Durability> My pair of Ultraventures after 500KMs, retains the supple midsole cushioning, a portion (say 40%) of the Vibram sole has worn out to its base (the base of the black bit-some nobs are gone), but still retains the grip quite well possibly due to the nature of the rubber used (does not skid off under my feet ), the upper started to look a bit dirty, developed a minor tear on the side of the upper material, the heel counters have tear, and a bit of a sponge foam is hanging out from one of the tear. Despite all it still is in a good enough state and is comfy to wear. I will still take it on a hike on a fine day, if not only for a long walk in town or in fields.
<Better if-s> Couple of really minor points, probably too minor. The heel counter material could be slightly more durable - I am not the kind that keep the shoe strings tied when getting in/out of the shoes. I felt like the heal counter was a bit fragile to show such wear relatively quickly. The print on the insole. started to coming off while I was walking. The film then rolled up inside the shoes (but still connected to the insoles) causing discomfort and unwanted friction on the sole of my foot. May be do away with the print??(again, this is super trivial).

At the end, this is a great comfortable pair of shoes perfect for a long hike on a less tricky trail.
